Saints Mary and Joseph Chapel is a wedding ceremony venue in St. Louis, MO, originally constructed many decades ago. Offering couples an elegant and charming location for their ‘I dos’, the chapel is an inviting space to mark the occasion. The ground was designated a religious site in 1767. The original 1818 church was a log cabin made from logs floated down river from the old St. Louis Cathedral before it’s inevitable ruin a few decades later. There were two other buildings on this site before the current church was built in 1940. This building characterizes a traditional British village church and welcomes guests to sit along the dark wooden pews under a timber roof. Marked by columns and arched entrance-ways, the chapel’s elements of limestone and cream-colored walls create a bright and cheery atmosphere.
Saints Mary and Joseph Chapel offers a fixed package for wedding ceremonies. Couples are welcome to arrive 1.5 hours prior to the ceremony and make use of the on-site Bride’s room and separate space for the men to dress. Photography and videography welcome but not on the alter. Availability is independent of Catholic mass times, ensuring that ceremonies can take place at the preferred time and day of each couple. Floral arrangements and other decor are allowed and couples choose their own Christian/Catholic celebrant for a truly personal experience.
